You were in for a surprise on Thursday evening at the Mahalaxmi race course. You were invited for the pre-derby fashion show-cum-dinner and you expected to see jockeys there… but not on the ramp! But that’s where jockeys Samuel Farget, Paul Mulronan, Neeraj Rawak, J Chinoy, R Biramne and J Periera were, scorching  the catwalk with models Aanchal Kumar, Zufi Syed, Shahwar Ali and others in a derby-inspired fasion show with attire designed by Sonia Vajifdar. Dresses, gowns, elaborate hats and suits…. You could see it all!

Vivek Jain was there with his wife Meeta and children, interacting with the guests that included former jockey Pesi Shroff, horse owner Khushroo Dhunjibhoy (derby favourite “Jacqueline” is his prized possession), Satish Maneshinde, Vasant Bhandari and DJ Megha Kawale. This indeed was a glam-slam prelude to the glamourous and stylish derby season.
