Food can be very comforting. Sanaya Chavda asks B-town Celebs what tastes they seek...

Our celebds have wined and dined at the finest restaurants, savoured the most exotics cuisines and sampled some of the strangest meals. But they admit that their taste buds crave as much for something more familiar. This is what's called one's comfort food. It could be your favourite meal cooked by your mother, a child¬hood indulgence or even a far away lands cuisine you may have more recently developed a taste for. If food makes you happy, comfort food makes you happier and conjures up fond memories. And don't the B-town brigade agree!

A pukka Punjabi, actor Sonu Sood says it's Makki di rati and Sarson da saag that he loves to turn to. "When 1 was study¬ing engineering in Nagpur. I would eagerly look for-ward to going home to eat meals cooked by my mom. It's one of the best parts of my childhood memories,” says the actor, who feels nothing beats the good old Indian cuisine.

Actress Tanushree Dutt lends a defini- tion to her idea of a comfort food. "Comfort food is simple home-cooked fare that gives a sense of well-being or satisfaction. It should be typ¬ically inexpensive, uncomplicated, and easy to prepare."For her it's the Bengali fish curry and rice followed with gulab jamun or mishti dahi.”This is how I reward myself. I have grown up eating that food and it just leaves me feeling content and satisfied every time.

No doubt then that most of us are accustomed to staple ghar ka khaana of dal arid rice. Model . Gujral also agrees.

“Whenever I’m feeling low, I turn to yellow Dal Khichdi It's the most satisfying. I like mine warm with ghee and some papad on the side,” she says adding that though she knows how to make it herself, she likes It morew when her mom makes it.

Singing a similar tune, Manasi Scott says that though she loves Thai food, it's a simple home-cooked meal that comforts her. “Growing up in a Tamilian-North Indian household I can devour bowls of rajma and chawal with a dollop of ghee as well as idli.

Once a found the place, I finished off a bowl of spicy chutney even before my main course arrived!" While Model Aditi Govitrikar swears by her mother's poha. dosas and idlls, she says she finds Thalipeeth. the most filling and nutri¬tious meal option.

For model Shahwar Ali it's home cooked Mutton Biryani that sets things right. "But indulging in a chicken burger when I can't make it home for a meal on time is the best instant pick-me-up," he says.

So much for the ghar ka khana... A desire for the more exotic can be possible too. as actress Kim Sharma reveals. "1 love Mexican food.

Nachos, torttillas and enchiladas are my favourite and I simply cant resist them. The diverse flavours and spices of Mexican cuisine make it a real treat. At times, I crave for rajma and kaali dal too," says tho hottie.

Model and deejay Megha Kawale insists sushi is her comfort food. "I am a fan of Japanese cuisine, Sushi really lifts up my mood. Saki maki is my anytime craving." And while most hunger after specific dishes, the yummy model Milind Soman says Belgian chocolate is all he wants. "I think if you are fit. you can eat anything. Chocolate really makes me happy and the Belgian variety is simply the best. I can easily devour three bars of milk or even dark chocolate at a time with no problem." says the model smiling.
